This cable was used in Dual turntables until the early 70s. The terminal plate is designed for turntables, which were equipped with TK14 and TK15 Headshells from Dual.
The shielded cable type of 223005 was changed by Dual into 4+1 single wires, when the quadrosound was invented. Quadrosound technology needed lower cable capacity. As it uses signals up to 50kHz. For stereo sound, the cable 223005 is still an excellent solution.
