The ULM1-OMx cartridge comes without stylus, as shown on picture 1!
So you can deside, which stylus you would like to install. Depending on your budget and sound expectations, you can install the Ortofon stylus 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40. Also the 78 type can be installed. You will find a selection of this ortofon stylus at the
cartridge section in my webshop.

For use in a CS714Q und CS731Q you will need a so called
TK27 fastening (refer also picture 3)
It can be used as a replacement of the following Dual ULM-Cartridges:
ULM40S, ULM45S, ULM45E, ULM49S, ULM55E, ULM60E
But the Dual styli DN140, DN145, DN149, DN150, DN152, DN155 und DN160
do not fit to this cartridge!
Description:
The Dualfred ULM1-OMx is based on an Ortofon OM cartridge. The top plate is a replica of the original ULM1 mounting plate, for direct fit to the above mentioned turntable models. It is made of the high tech plastic material PA 6.6 on a CNC milling machine. The mountig thread is a metal insert. This top plate is not a cheap 3D-printed part!
The cartridge connection pis have the standard diameter of 1.3mm. So the 4 pole adaptor (which is sometimes installed) at the tonearm cables is not needed. It can be left out and the cables can be directly connected to the cartridge (refer picture 2).
Attention: The standard versions of CS714Q and CS731Q were equiped with a ULM60 cartridge, mounted on a so called TK26 fastening. The plug at this TK26 does only support small cartridge pins with 1mm diameter. So it does not work with the Dualfred ULM1-OMx cartridges. There is a so called
TK27 fastening (Dual # 266606), which was also standard at the MC-versions of the Dual CS714 and 731. This fastening supports the standard pin diameter. Refer also picture 3!
Cartridge height and stylus position of the Dualfred ULM1-OMx cartridge is exactly the same like the original Dual ULM1-Types. There is no adjustment of the cartrige position necessary. The mass is ~2.7 gramms (incl. stylus), which is almost the same as the original Dual ULM1-cartridges with Ortofon bodies. So there are no additional weight plates at the counter weight needed.
The technical data are the same as the original Ortofon OM-Series with the installed stylus (except weight and dimensions). A datasheet is shown in picture 4. It is possible to install all Ortofon OM-series stylus to the ULM1-OMx cartridge. So the spare stylus support is non critical. The usage of higher grade stylus of the Ortofon OM-series offers a upgrade opportunities, up to the top level.
