Description:
Usually you need the extremely rare original Dual Half Inch Kit to install standard cartridges to a Dual 714 or 731. So it was quite difficult to install better cartridges to these top quality Dual turntable models.
But this has changed with the introduction of the Dualfred Half Inch Kit! This kit is a product engineered by Dualfred. It consist of the Dualfred TK-1/2" and two weight plates with fixing screws. A decription sheet for installation is also included in the the delivery. The Dualfred TK-1/2" fits directly into the originally installed short head plate of the Dual CS714Q or Dual CS731Q.
For high life span, the TK-1/2" is made from the extremely strong plastic material POM. The spring loaded contact fingers are gold platetd, for reliable low resistance values to the tonarm. The mass of the TK-1/2" is 2,4 grams only, which is almost the same as the mass of the original Dual TK26 cartrige holder. So there is no change of the effective tonearm mass caused by the TK-1/2". Which would be not the case with the heavy original Dual Half Inch Kit. The height of the Dualfred TK-1/2" is 4mm. This is exactly the same like the height of the original Dual TK26 or TK24 cartridhe holders. So there is no limitation to cartridges with low heigt, when using the Dualfred TK-1/2".
The included weight plates are meant for assembly to the counter balance weight, depending on the weight of the new cartridge. So the counter balance weight will never be pulled out too far.
